Nashville CARES announces Avant Garde Mad Hatters Ball

Nashville CARES is hosting Avant Garde Mad Hatters Ball on Saturday, February 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. Presenting sponsor NPS Pharmacy and Event Chairs Wes Davis, Connie Ford, Bradley Pinson and Abby White, invite you to their Mad Hatters Ball for an evening of curious and magical entertainment. Costumes are optional, but hats are required.

“Avant Garde is one of the best parties in Nashville, and this year it is going to be bigger and better than ever,” said Connie Ford, Event Chair. “Mad Hatters Ball is a fun way to raise the much needed funds to fight HIV/AIDS in Middle Tennessee.”

Guests will enjoy “eat me” bites and “drink me” libations by The Chef & I. Pop-up performances will occur throughout the evening while DJ Ron will keep guests moving on the dance floor.

The evening features a live and silent auction with 150 items, featuring a $2,500 Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams shopping spree and a 122 Martin D28 Acoustic Guitar autographed by dozens of country super stars, including Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
