Nashville CARES Announces 2014 Dining Out For Life Co-Chairs

The 12th Annual Dining Out For Life returns to Nashville on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Area restaurants will join in for a one-day celebration of food, friendship and fundraising!

The event’s returning Co-Chairs, Chris Chamberlin and Jay Matheney, are excited to welcome Shamille Wharton, a local food blogger and Account Advisor with Emma, as a Co-Chair. The Co-Chairs, in addition to Bob Deal, Honorary Co-Chair, are excited to welcome new and returning restaurants to this year's Dining Out For Life Nashville event.

“Dining Out For Life is such a simple and pleasurable way to support a great cause---come together at the table with good friends to enjoy good food. We are so grateful for the ongoing generosity of Nashville’s independent restaurant community who year after year extend such wonderful hospitality to Nashville CARES,” said Deal.

Over 70 restaurants will participate, donating 30% - 100% of their sales for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to Nashville CARES that day.  All you have to do is gather your friends, family and coworkers and head to a local participating restaurant.

“Dining Out For Life is one of Nashville CARES' most successful events for two primary reasons.  First and foremost, the incredible generosity of Nashville's restaurant community in coming together for this one-day event.  Second, it's easy for anyone to participate:  just dine out at any of the participating restaurants around town, and a portion of your check will be donated to CARES,” said Co-Chair, Jay Matheney.

“As a food writer, I'm always pleased to be able to help bring diners and great restaurants together, especially those that support the important works of Nashville Cares,” said Co-Chair and long-time supporter of CARES, Chris Chamberlain.

Nashville CARES holds the only Dining Out For Life event in Tennessee.  For one day of the year, we encourage Nashville to Dine Out and Fight AIDS!  All proceeds from Dining Out For Life support Nashville CARES’ programs and services that support thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS here in our community.  To find a participating restaurant, click here.

Restaurants that are interested in participating should contact Chris McCune at 615-259-4866 or cmccune@NashvilleCARES.org for more information about the event.

WhistlePig + Alfa Romeo F1

SHOREHAM, VT (September 13, 2023) — WhistlePig Whiskey, the leaders in independent craft whiskey, and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake are waving the checkered flag on a legend-worthy release that’s taking whiskey to G-Force levels. The Limited Edition PiggyBack Legends Series: Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is a high Rye Whiskey selected by the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers, with barrels trialed in their wind tunnel to ensure a thrilling taste in every sip.

The third iteration in WhistlePig’s Single Barrel PiggyBack Legends Series, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is bottled at 96.77 proof, a nod to Valtteri Bottas’ racing number, 77, and the precision of racing. Inspired by Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver, this Rye Whiskey is finished with lychee and oolong tea. Herbal and floral notes of the oolong tea complement the herbaceous notes of WhistlePig’s signature PiggyBack 100% Rye, rounded out with a juicy tropical fruit finish and a touch of spice.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
