The Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are proud to present the fourth staging of Alphabet Art, a Juried Exhibition of Queer Artists in corporation with Out Central Cultural Center and are currently accepting submissions to the selection committee for works of art to be featured in the 2013 Exhibition. Submission deadline is set at Midnight Central Daylight Time Monday, July 8, 2013.
For the fourth consecutive year The Music City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are preparing for our Alphabet Art exhibition. This annual event showcasing inspired works by gifted queer artists is hosted at Nashville’s GLBTQIA cultural center, Out Central located at 1709 Church Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
There are few - if any - other free-standing juried art exhibitions focused on the portrayal of the GLBTQIA community’s experiences, perspectives, and dreams in the entire United States. For the past three years the Music City Sisters have created a high profile opportunity for Middle Tennesseans to view an excellent variety of submissions thereby furthering our mission of promoting universal joy and expiating stigmatic guilt.
In addition, the one-of-a-kind juried exhibition awards a $1000 cash prize divided between the top three entries. Alphabet Art's opening reception and award ceremony will take place Friday, September 6, 2013 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and the exhibition will be available for public view September 8 through Saturday, October 5, 2013, 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m..
