Mobile day spa serves up fresh, organic services

If you are planning a party and want something original for your guests or if you just want to lavish yourself at home, Sharon Lake’s Lavish Mobile Day Spa has the solution.

The company specializes in on-location spa and lifestyle services in the Greater Nashville area with an array of selections to suit even the pickiest spa enthusiasts.

In 2002, Lake was living in Detroit, Mich., and planning her second child’s baby shower. She didn't want to bore her guests with traditional shower games and decided it was time to try something new.

Lake designed a relaxing pamper-themed shower, complete with massage therapists, a professional makeup artist, esthetician, nail tech, spa cuisine caterer and a pianist for dinner music.

"The biggest challenge was putting it all together smoothly," Lake said.

She discovered that there was no company in Michigan that could accommodate all these services for an event with one call.

A few years later, balancing family life with a husband, two children and a thriving retail business, she found it increasingly difficult to find time to squeeze in pampering for herself like she had done in the past.

An avid believer in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Lake knew it was time for a change for her and others who experienced similar frustrations. That’s when she founded Lavish Mobile Day Spa.

"Many of us have been taught to take care of everyone else and put ourselves last," Lake said. "Pampering tends to be thought of as recuperative after we crash and burn. In reality, daily pampering is a necessity and the best preventive medicine. It keeps us healthy both spiritually and physically."

Last year, Lake and her family relocated to the Nashville area, expanding Lavish which now services both Michigan and Tennessee.

Lavish offers various individual eco-friendly spa treatments, couples packages and custom theme spa parties priced on a per-person basis, including the popular Midday-Getaway with massage and Spa Organicures (non-toxic manicures or pedicures). Personal and corporate spa parties are available for adults and children from birthdays to bah mitzvahs to employee recognition.

Optional services such as spa robes, dining etiquette lessons, belly dancing , healthy kitchen conversions, personal chef services, full event design and custom gift bags are also offered, among others. The signature Lavish Spa Bar offers fresh, all-natural, made-to-order spa treatments which are great for smaller more intimate settings. Spa Tasting Stations are very popular for larger events.

Image makeover services by the Lavish Glam Squad are also very popular and include a consultation of hair, skin-care, makeup application or wardrobe styling.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
