Hello LGBTIQA Pride Festival Attendees:

Id like to welcome you to the 33rd annual Pride Festival, centered on our theme of MY PRIDE . This is the second year that we have expanded to an entire week of activities and events planned for you. Celebrating the diversity within our own community, weve tried to plan something for everyone, whether this is your first festival or your 33rd.
The mission of Show Me Pride is to PARTNER with, RESPECT, INSPIRE, DEVELOP and EDUCATE the surrounding community about LGBTIQA diversity and civil liberties, locally and globally.

We think its worked! Alongside our veteran partners, we have new partnerships with AMC Theaters, Lucky Strike, the Garment District, Jones Pool, the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Skate World, and Cosentinos and a host of new exhibitors. We couldnt be more pleased with the results!

For the first time in Kansas City, rainbow pole banners will hang along 14th and Walnut Streets to commemorate Gay Pride week for the entire community to see.

Our board of volunteers has worked tirelessly to bring you a week of Pride activities, including the Military Memorial, the movie Forevers Gonna Start Tonight at The Tivoli, a Candlelight Vigil dedicated to transgender issues, Educational Symposiums partnered with the LGCCKC, a Lesbian Party, Interfaith Service with Spaghetti Social immediately following, Quilt Dinner, Power the Light with Pride, the Street Festival, and finally the Rally/March. I couldnt be more pleased or proud of that group of people who have given so much of themselves to provide you these incredible events!

Theres always room for growth, improvement, and change. We welcome any of you to get involved with our organization, starting in July, as we begin planning for the 2012 festival.

This week couldnt be done without the help of countless people, organizations, and establishments who are devoted to our movement and provide opportunities to us to raise money and awareness, and provide education. We are so thankful to our returning sponsors, our new sponsors, our community organizations and establishments, and to each and every one of the exhibitors and vendors who bring their information, products, and spirit to our festival for each and every one of you. Please support them and show them how much you care that they care about you.

The return of the festival to the citys central core marks the first time since 2002 that weve had a street festival. We listened to the surveys taken in late 2009, with the input of more than 400 of you. In response to this survey question, respondents overwhelmingly asked us to move this direction. Were hoping that all of you will come out, come out ... wherever you are .... and stand proudly, in solidarity, with your fellow LGBTIQA community and open the minds and hearts of our fellow Kansas Citians. We believe that the festival is not just for us, but about us as well. It is only when we EDUCATE that we will begin to DEVELOP relationships that might INSPIRE others to RESPECT us and PARTNER with us to change the laws of our city, states, and nation where we can all live equal, safe, and proud.

WhistlePig + Alfa Romeo F1

SHOREHAM, VT (September 13, 2023) — WhistlePig Whiskey, the leaders in independent craft whiskey, and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake are waving the checkered flag on a legend-worthy release that’s taking whiskey to G-Force levels. The Limited Edition PiggyBack Legends Series: Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is a high Rye Whiskey selected by the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake drivers, with barrels trialed in their wind tunnel to ensure a thrilling taste in every sip.

The third iteration in WhistlePig’s Single Barrel PiggyBack Legends Series, the Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake Barrel is bottled at 96.77 proof, a nod to Valtteri Bottas’ racing number, 77, and the precision of racing. Inspired by Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver, this Rye Whiskey is finished with lychee and oolong tea. Herbal and floral notes of the oolong tea complement the herbaceous notes of WhistlePig’s signature PiggyBack 100% Rye, rounded out with a juicy tropical fruit finish and a touch of spice.

Nurse Practitioner Ari Kravitz

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare, so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.
