Health and Fitness - Laughing Out Proud

Be proud that you can laugh through it all. Yep, it’s true that you are gay and yep, it’s true that someone is not going to like that you’re gay. There are always going to be people out there who want to steal your sunshine because of your rainbow ways. You can get angry at them all or just learn to laugh out proud.

The neighbor down the street doesn’t approve of your alternative lifestyle and hopes you get that job promotion across the country. That disapproving dunderhead is not going to be happy to see you finish runner-up for that position. A neighbor not liking you because you’re gay? Now that’s hilarious. Go ahead and laugh out proud!

Cleanup in aisle six, please. Lady just had her jaw hit the ground, and she needs help putting it back in place. Apparently, she saw the display of two ladies (gasp) kissing on the lips in the grocery store. Now this suburban soccer mom is realizing IT is in her town now. There’s no need to cover your mouth. Laugh out proud if you’d like!
The preacher from the Fire and Brimstone Channel is at it again with another dog and phony show. He’s presenting his (closeted) case to the jury about my guilt as a hedonistic hooligan hell-bent on homosexual hijinks. That all just sounds too funny. Join me for a good laugh out proud!

There are lawmakers in many states of confusion who want to ban same-sex marriages. This country was founded on freedom of religion and freedom of speech. It’s so important that these legislators and their constituents express these religious principles that have made our republic so great.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain with his pursuit of happiness or all men are created equal. You’ve been patient long enough; it’s OK to have a hearty laugh out proud!

The recent discussion on a talk radio show centered on all the gay and lesbian negative influences on so many of Hollywood’s big and little screen roles. The callers were all distraught with the gay guttersnipes that have replaced the good old days of watching great movies or TV shows with a positive message.

Gone, they say, are the days of the heroic John Wayne or the great family man Mike Brady. Yes, they are referring to the same John Wayne who was successfully directed in many westerns by the award-winning director John Ford, who some people say was gay. Yes, they are also referring to the same Mike Brady whose character was played by the gay actor Robert Reed. Turn that smile into a laugh out proud!

There are plenty of folks out there that don’t like you because you are YOU. Just keep taking on each of these people with a smile and laughter each day. It’s the healthiest and most inexpensive way to deal with it all. Enjoy the amazing Pride season this year, and keep laughing out proud!

Mental Health for LGBTQ+ Aging Adults

Queer elders have made a big impact on the world. Queer folks over the age of 65 were around during the Stonewall Movement in the 1960s and may have even campaigned to improve the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ people around the world.

But, as queer elders enter later life, they may need to find new ways to protect and preserve their mental health.
