Fuse Nashville sets hiring event for April 17

Nashville's newest Nightclub, Fuse, will hold a hiring event on April 17 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Gaylord Opryland Resort, where more than 1,000 applicants in Music City are needed to audition for 85 positions that will become available soon when Fuse™ …where Sin City meets Music City…explodes onto the scene.

The new Vegas-style nightclub opens in June at Gaylord Opryland Resort and 85 of the area’s coolest cocktail servers, hostesses, mixologists and doormen are needed to get the club rocking.

A red-hot hiring event for Fuse will be held this Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 1 – 6 p.m. in the resort’s Presidential Chambers. Job candidates should follow the signs at the entrance for parking.

“If you’re coming, get ready to be energized by the sizzling atmosphere of Fuse. Just the hiring event itself will be memorable and will be an experience most job seekers will remember for a long time to come,” said Theresa Dileo, vice president of human resources, Gayord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

Applicants will experience a “mock-Fuse” setting with music to set the stage. They can expect to go through a series of rooms, meeting Fuse and Gaylord Opryland personnel, with interviews being conducted on the spot and offers being made to the most outstanding candidates in the crowd.

“We want only ‘10s’. That means a ten in passion, looks, and attitude,” stated Arthur Keith, senior vice president and general manager, Gaylord Opryland Resort and Attractions. “Nightclub experience and cocktail experience are not necessary.  We want big personalities and the sexiest servers Music City has seen.”

The event is expected to draw hundreds of job seekers. A second hiring activity will be held Wednesday, April 23, at Global Café, located at 322 Broadway in downtown Nashville. Interested applicants are encouraged to pre-register on-line at www.fusenashville.com. Appointment times will be scheduled between 1 and 6 p.m., but walk-ins will also be welcome.

WHERE: Gaylord Opryland Resort.

WHEN:  April 17.  Hiring event from 1 - 6 p.m.

Gender-Inclusive Universities and Student Privacy

For many students, attending university is a profound, often life-changing, transition. It is often the student’s first time living on their own without parental supervision. This lifestyle is also accompanied by a period of self-discovery, of defining and redefining a sense of personal identity largely independent of the influence of family and friends from home.

For students who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, this rite of passage can also be a deeply empowering one. Indeed, attending university may be the student’s first real opportunity to explore their gender identity in a safe, comfortable, and accepting college.

I had the opportunity to visit Mexico for an event José Cuervo was putting on, the unveiling of their premium tequila brand, Reserva de la Familia. The trip was all about tequila, how to drink it properly, how to pair it with food, and of course, visiting various points of interest in Guadalajara while tasting tequila along the way.
