This month on Out & About Today, TV host Azariah Southworth joins Brent to talk about coming out of the closet and how it was especially challenging as the host of a Christian TV show.

Out & About's Travel and Leisure Editor Cole Wakefield just got back from Las Vegas. He'll join Pam to talk about great shows and attractions for the gay and lesbian community when planning a summer vacation to Las Vegas.

And in our entertainment outlook, Chuck profiles dance diva Kylie Minogue and we'll have a preview of the long awaited Sex and the City movie. On this edition of Out & About Today, we're previewing the upcoming Pride festival and looking back on its 20th anniversary. Pride member Todd Grantham sits down with Brent to give us a rundown of the upcoming events and tell us what to expect at this year's festival.

Community activist Linda Welch joins Pam to discuss the significance of this being the 20th anniversary of the Pride event. She shares some of the history of the first Pride in 1988 and how the event has grown and changed over the last 20 years.

And Chuck has a preview of two of the artists headlining this year's Pride festivities: billboard dance chart divas Kristin W and Ultra Nate. And new this year, a special Spirituality service has been added to the line-up. Todd Grantham and Rev. Cindy Andrews-Looper will tell us all about it.

Gender-Inclusive Universities and Student Privacy

For many students, attending university is a profound, often life-changing, transition. It is often the student’s first time living on their own without parental supervision. This lifestyle is also accompanied by a period of self-discovery, of defining and redefining a sense of personal identity largely independent of the influence of family and friends from home.

For students who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, this rite of passage can also be a deeply empowering one. Indeed, attending university may be the student’s first real opportunity to explore their gender identity in a safe, comfortable, and accepting college.
