CBS could be looking for you

Do you think you could use your quick mind and comedy skills to wow Fortune 500 companies with your talent? If so, CBS and Mark Burnett Productions have teamed up to provide you with that opportunity. They are looking for the greatest undiscovered marketing geniuses for a new show called Jingles.

The production company is looking for teams of two to four people to write and perform product jingles. A team could be anything from an improv troupe to a singing comedy duo or a barbershop quartet.

“We are looking for fun, high-energy performances mixed with a competitive spirit,” says Jonathan Tanzman, casting associate for Jingles. “Teams will compete weekly for a chance to win $100,000 and a contract with one of the companies. Now is your chance to prove that you possess the competitive edge and talent to win over a live audience and industry professionals all at once.”

There are two ways to audition. The deadline for receiving videos is Thursday, May 22, but it it is strongly recommended to submit a video as early as possible. You can choose to make a jingle from the following list of fictional products:

  • Grease Away Dish Soap
  • Mr. Morgan's Root Beer
  • Cinnamon X Cereal
  • Friendship Air
  • Fruit It Up! (candy or gum)
  • Blitz 5 Razor
  • Sherry's Cherry Gum
  • Swift Cola

OR...you can make a jingle about the following personal items:

  • Your Jingles Team
  • Your Hometown
  • Your Current Job
  • A Past Job
  • A Pet
  • A Family member

The other way to audition is to come to an open call. You will need to come prepared with at least one jingle from one of the lists above. It helps to have a backup or two as well. The open call will be as follows:

Monday, June 2
Auditions begin at 9:00 a.m.
The Music Mill
1710 Roy Acuff Place, Nashville, TN 37203

Callbacks, if selected, will be the following day.

For information on how to apply, contact Tanzman at (310) 903-5400, extension 5610 or jtanzman@markburnettprod.com.

I think we’ve all been there back in the day when we smoked our first joint, and then some, (sorry mom)–hacking, coughing, and choking on the herbaceous weed. As an LGBTQ+ patient, you should be able to expect the same high-quality care provided to all patients. Unfortunately, this doesn’t necessarily always prove to be the case. There remains a notoriously significant disparity in healthcare outcomes for LGBTQ+ patients, often related to issues with discrimination among providers.

Even when you find a good physician, this doesn’t mean that everyone interacting with your healthcare information will be as respectful or responsible. It is, therefore, important to be vigilant about how your data is handled. You have a right to privacy just as you have an expectation of fair treatment.
